Guitar Tutor Pro is another
downloadable e-course. We didn’t like it quite as much as
Jamorama, but our reviewers gave it lots of bonus points for the
quality of instruction. However, it does not have any video
clips, which proved to be to be quite a drawback in our opinion.
Quantity:
Although there’s not nearly as
much as in Learn & Master Guitar or even Jamorama, there is
quite a bit of instruction here, especially for beginners.
There are also several software bonuses, but much of it is
similar to what can be found for free elsewhere.
Quality:
The quality is similar to what
you’d expect to find in a good “learn guitar” book – great
instruction, but lacking good audio and video examples. The
lessons really are good. They are clear, concise, and easy to
follow. It’s just hard not to wish there were some video
examples, too.
Service:
The only way we could find to
contact the sellers of this course was through an online form.
There does not appear to be a customer service number, so you
will not be able to speak to anyone live.
Online Support:
No student support is available.
Negatives:
The most obvious downside to this
course is the lack of any audio or video examples. It also has
the usual disadvantage common to all e-courses of having to take
all your lessons on the computer.
Bottom Line:
If your budget only allows for an e-course, Jamorama is a better
choice. But if your budget is really tight, Guitar Tutor
Pro is the next best thing, and it’s very inexpensive. It would
also make a great learning supplement to any of the other
courses we’ve reviewed.
